Official Cancellation

We are sad to announce the cancellation of the 2020 New Jersey Folk Festival following Rutgers President Robert Barchi’s announcement of the cancellation of Rutgers Day and other events on campus for the remainder of the spring semester due to COVID-19. President Barchi’s message can be found here: https://president.rutgers.edu/important-update-courses-events-and-commencement

We want to do everything possible to safeguard public health, and we are confident that the New Jersey Folk Festival will return even stronger in 2021. We look forward to carrying on relationships with our audiences, alumni, artists, musicians, community partners, craft vendors, food vendors, and professional service providers in the future.

Craft Vendors

We will refund or return in full your fees paid for booth space at the 2020 festival. Please allow us some time to execute this process, but don’t hesitate to contact us with questions at njffcrafts@gmail.com if you have not received a refund by the end of April.

Food Vendors

Application fees will be refunded in full by DHS Hospitality. Contact food.njff@gmail.com for any queries related to your application and/or fee refund.

Artists, Musicians, and Community Partners:

At this time, we must cancel any signed contracts and void any unsigned contracts or verbal agreements relating to this year’s festival. We hope to work with you again in the future. While we do not have a plan for next year’s festival at this time, we do want to take into consideration the relationships and contracts with artists we have made during the planning for the 2020 festival. If you have questions regarding your relationship with the festival or about your contract, please email Associate Director Matt Hueston at njffassociate@gmail.com (Shore Stage performers); or Administrative Director Maria Kennedy at maria.kennedy@rutgers.edu (All other artists).

Professional Service / Infrastructure Providers

Administrative Director Maria Kennedy will contact you to discuss your contract or service agreement.
